Emma Watson is at the centre of an online row following her provocative photo-shoot for Vanity Fair's April issue.

The actress and UN ambassador posed in a cut-out crochet cape and a white lace skirt by Burberry for the shoot with the British fashion photographer Tim Walker. While many fans have praised the beautifully styled image for being boldly feminist, others have suggested the revealing look was "hypocritical"of Watson as she is a prominent feminist campaigner.
A debate was started when The Sun reproduced the image on page 3 with the headline "Beauty and the Breasts". The newspaper columnist Julia Hartley-Brewer then questioned why the photo in Vanity Fair was "empowering" when posing topless in a tabloid is deemed to be "exploitation". This immediately riled up Twitter.
Many accused Hartley-Brewer of failing to understand feminists, while others pointed out that feminism is about free choice.
In her interview with the magazine, Watson discusses her role as Belle in the upcoming live-action re-make. She says the film allowed her to make "that transition into being a woman on screen," and while her character is "absolutely a Disney princess... she's not a passive character – she's in charge of her own destiny." Sounds like she's the right girl for the job.
