Miley Cyrus debuted not one, not two, but five shimmering looks at the 2024 Grammys.
First, the pop star walked the red carpet at Los Angeles’s Crypto.com Arena in a golden gown designed exclusively for her by John Galliano for Maison Margiela. The completely see-through piece was made up of hundreds of gold safety pins designed like armor, linked in intricate geometric designs that covered her body. But the unique statement dress wasn’t the only star of Cyrus’s outfit—the singer also shocked with her glam, seemingly paying tribute to her godmother, Dolly Parton, with her dramatically voluminous, curly updo, in a nod to her country roots. Cyrus finished the unexpected look with yellow and gold Tabi heels.

Later, to accept her Record of the Year award for “Flowers”—presented by Mariah Carey—Cyrus switched into an incredible glittery black jumpsuit with a halter neckline and a chic chest cutout.

And to perform her award-winning hit, Cyrus changed into a shimmery silver Tina Turner–esque dress with a cup bra, torso cutout, and flirty, flowy skirt. She paired the vintage Bob Mackie piece with strappy black sandals.
“I didn’t wanna leave—but I had to,” she sang, adding lyrics to seemingly shade ex-husband Liam Hemsworth. “I didn’t wanna fight—but we did / I didn’t wanna lie. Started to cry, but then remembered / I—just won my first Grammy!”

Cyrus went through two more outfit changes during the ceremony. One was a sheer black catsuit with a plunging sweetheart neckline, and a lacy swirly pattern and sequins all over. The waistline and ankles were embellished with faux pearls and white beads. To add to the drama, the pop star wore it with a black boa and diamond drop earrings by De Beers.

Cyrus's final outfit of the night was a brown sequin asymmetric dress with a super-high leg slit and an open back, custom-made by Gucci. She wore it with a brown boa, pointy brown heels, and a brown leather mini bag.

The singer’s mom, Tish, and sister Brandi Cyrus arrived in coordinating ensembles to support her on her big night.
Cyrus is nominated in six categories tonight—including Album of the Year for Endless Summer Vacation, plus Song of the Year and Record of the Year for “Flowers,” the empowering single-girl anthem that took over the charts in 2023. (It’s believed to be about Hemsworth.)
“One year ago today ‘Flowers’ started making people happy & that makes me happy. Love you. Thank you. XO MC,” Cyrus posted on Instagram on January 13, celebrating the hit.
Cyrus has earned a total of eight Grammy Award nominations throughout her career, but has not won yet.
The last time she attended the Grammys was 2019, when she walked the carpet in a sleek black suit, strappy black stiletto sandals, and big diamonds—and then changed out of her blazer and into an open vest with metallic pasties to perform onstage.
